By Taxi
The most comfortable way to get to us is of course by taxi. A taxi ride from Heathrow to Sussex Gardens costs approximately 35 pounds and takes on average 40 minutes (door to door) excluding rush hours. If you are arriving at Heathrow Airport the fastest way to get to the Orchard Hotel is of course by this rail link between Heathrow and Paddington. This rail link is a direct non-stop link between Heathrow and Paddington station and only takes 15 minutes and the cost is currently 12 pounds per person [children travel free]. Paddington Station is only 300 metres from the Hotel as you can see from the maps.Heathrow Express when fully implemented is expected to carry the bulk of the passengers between London and Heathrow. Check-in facilities are currently being made available at Paddington in order to facilitate passengers. It is estimated that in the near future you can check in at Paddington station for all airlines if you are flying through Heathrow.
By London Underground
Due to the fact that the Orchard is so centrally situated and within 3 (three) underground stations probably the easiest and cheapest way is to use the London Underground. The cost of this depending from where you are travelling will be approximately 3 pounds per person.If you are arriving at Heathrow you have to get the Picadilly Line (Blue) and change at Gloucester to get the Circle Line (Yellow) via Paddington. (or the District Line (Green) from Earls Court, or the Hammersmith (pink) from Hammersmith. Please check the maps first The journey will probably take 50 minutes.
By Car
If you coming from the west the best way is to get on the M25 and then the M40 which starts just north of Paddington going to Oxford. If you are coming from the North the best way is to get on the M1 to London and at the Junction with the North Circular Road (A406) get on the Edgware Road (A5) south. Of course the signs to look for are Paddington or Hyde Park Corner.Please try to avoid the rush hour (08.30-09.30 and 17.30-18.30). Please note that a very limited amount of parking is available at the Hotel.
